The Search

Barbara Reeley has been searching desperately for her missing grandson, Jaliek Rainwalker, since the moment she found out he was missing. Recently she went on two searches with volunteers but nothing was found of interest or in connection with Jaliek's disappearance. Barbara has stayed in touch with law enforcement, the press and those trying to help find Jaliek. She has put countless missing posters up and founded the Find Jaliek Task Force. Barbara helped along with others to get billboards put up with Jaliek's photo and created a website. She has searched various locations including the abandoned Raven Way house to look for evidence, which she found.  Earlier this year Barbara got Jaliek's story on TV ONE's Find Our Missing.

I asked Barbara Reeley what her daughter and Stephen Kerr have been doing to find their son Jaliek and here's what she said:

" One week after Jaliek disappeared Jocelyn McDonald and Stephen Kerr held a vigil at a church in Salem, NY."

"Two weeks after Jaliek's disappearance they held a second vigil at the Episcopal Church in Greenwich, NY."

"In February 2008 a fundraiser was held at the Salem, NY church for Jaliek but Jocelyn and Stephen were out of state visiting relatives during the fundraiser ~ I was told the money raised at that fundraiser was given to Jocelyn and Stephen to buy signs for bus placards to help find Jaliek."

"Stephen was seen putting up about 20 Jaliek posters in Albany."

"He was also seen taking down many posters of Jaliek that the Jaliek Task Force put up."

"I do not know of anything other than the above that they have done to try to find Jaliek."

Jaliek's adoptive parents become unresponsive with the police.

YELLOW FLEECE

When questioned initially, Stephen Kerr gave police a physical description of Jaliek. Law enforcement needed this information to help them search for Jaliek.

Included in Stephen Kerr's description were the articles of clothing Jaliek was wearing the last time he saw him.

One of the items of clothing Kerr says Jaliek was wearing was a yellow fleece.

Surely, if Stephen and Jocelyn had found Jaliek's yellow fleece at some point.. they would let police know.. right???

I asked Jaliek's maternal adoptive grandmother, Barbara Reeley, about her discovery of Jaliek's yellow fleece, and here's what she said:

"I found Jaliek's yellow fleece at the Raven Way house in July 2008."

"I went to the house that was empty and went inside and upstairs to the area Jaliek used to sleep."

"Jaliek's belongings were scattered around the area and there was a stack of washed, dried and folded clothing ~ the yellow fleece was in this stack."

"The rest of the house was completely empty except for four pieces of furniture."
